I am honored to have recently been elected to the board of Empowerhouse. Our mission is outlined below. I am humbled to have been asked to serve our community in this capacity and am asking your help in our mission. As a physician, I am in a unique position to see how family life affects all of those involved. I have worked in both city hospitals in Chicago as well as in suburban Virginia. The struggles are the same everywhere. Neglect and abuse are a problem in all communities, but a problem that we can make a difference if we are willing to get involved.
Join me in supporting Empowerhouse to Empower a New Generation by breaking the cycle of domestic violence through children and youth education. In our community, over 10,000 children witness family violence each year and Empowerhouse has made expanding education and awareness to children and youth a priority.
